Safety Instructions for Household Natural Gas Silent Generator Sets

Safety Instructions for Household Natural Gas Silent Generator Sets

1. Installation & Environmental Safety (Top Priority)

1. Never operate in enclosed indoor spaces - Must be installed outdoors, on balconies, or in independent generator rooms with excellent ventilation. - Strictly prohibited in bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms, basements or other enclosed/semi-enclosed areas to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning and gas accumulation explosions.

2. Standard exhaust system - Connect a dedicated exhaust pipe leading directly outdoors, with the pipe mouth pointing downward and fitted with a windproof cap to avoid exhaust backflow or rainwater ingress. - Keep exhaust pipes away from doors, windows, combustibles and occupied areas; insulate high-temperature sections properly.

3. Gas and electrical safety - Use stainless steel corrugated hoses for gas pipelines (ordinary rubber hoses are forbidden). Ensure tight seals at joints, and install anti-flashback devices, main gas valves and gas leak alarms. - Electrical circuits, switches and lighting must be explosion-proof; the unit must be reliably grounded to prevent electric leakage.

4. Fire prevention and layout- Keep away from open flames, heat sources and flammables; equip a dry powder fire extinguisher. - Reserve at least 1 meter of maintenance space around the unit, and fix it stably on a base.

2. Pre-Start Inspection

Check that gas valves are open and pipelines are leak-free (test with soapy water). - Verify engine oil and coolant levels are normal; use softened water or antifreeze for coolant. - Ensure electrical connections are secure, output switches are off, and the battery is fully charged. - Confirm ventilation and exhaust passages are unobstructed. - Remove debris from the unit and ensure no foreign objects near rotating parts.

3. Startup & Operation Rules

1. Correct startup - Start at no load: purge air first, then open gas supply. Never supply gas before starting. - Each electric start shall not exceed 5 seconds; wait 10–15 seconds before retrying to avoid burning the starter motor. - After startup, idle for 3–5 minutes to warm up until voltage and frequency stabilize before loading.

2. Operation monitoring - Maintain normal voltage (220V±5%), frequency (50Hz±0.5Hz), oil pressure and water/oil temperature. - Watch for abnormal noise, vibration, smoke, odors or leaks. - Normal exhaust is light blue or colorless. Stop immediately for inspection if black smoke (overload/poor combustion), blue smoke (oil burning) or white smoke (coolant leakage) appears.

3. Load management - Total load ≤ 80% of rated power. Long-term low-load operation (<30%) is forbidden to avoid carbon buildup and unit damage. - Connect small loads first, then high-power equipment; note surge currents when starting large devices.

4. Shutdown Procedures

1. Normal shutdown - Unload all loads → idle for 3–5 minutes to cool down → close the gas valve → shut down the unit. - After shutdown, turn off the battery switch and coolant valve (for antifreeze in winter).

2. Emergency shutdown - In case of gas leaks, open flames, abnormal noise, severe vibration, burning smells or serious parameter abnormalities, press the emergency stop button immediately, cut off gas supply, ventilate the area and prohibit any ignition sources.

5. Routine Maintenance

Replace engine oil at specified intervals with the recommended grade. - Clean or replace air, gas and oil filters regularly. - Inspect for gas leaks, clean nozzles and check anti-flashback devices periodically. - Use antifreeze in the cooling system; drain all coolant when temperatures drop below 5°C in winter. - Maintain battery charge and clean terminal posts.

6. Emergency Handling

Gas leak: Stop the unit → cut off gas supply → open doors and windows for ventilation → no open flames, electrical switches or mobile phones → seek professional repair outdoors. - Carbon monoxide poisoning: Move the victim to a ventilated area, loosen clothing, place in lateral position to prevent suffocation → call emergency services (120). - Fire: Cut off gas and power → extinguish with dry powder fire extinguisher → evacuate immediately and call fire department (119) if the fire spreads.
