1. Grasp the characteristics and cleaning methods of engine paper filter elements
The outer filter element is made of microporous filter paper, and the surface is treated with resin. When the engine is working, the air passes through the microporous filter element to filter out the dust, ensuring that clean air enters the supercharger and then enters the cylinder. The inner filter element is made of high-grade felt, which is a safety filter element. In use, a layer of dust will stick around the outer filter element. When cleaning the outer filter element of the air filter, do not use water or oil. The filter element should be prevented from being soaked with oil and water; the usual method is to tap lightly. The specific method is: lightly tap on the tire to beat out the dust, and then blow with dry compressed air below 0.4MPa. When blowing, you should blow from the inside to the outside.
2. Regular cleaning and replacement of the filter element. In the case of Steyr 91 series heavy-duty vehicles, the air filter element should be cleaned and replaced regularly in accordance with the maintenance regulations to avoid excessive dust adhesion on the filter element, resulting in air intake resistance Increased, reduced engine power and increased fuel consumption. Clean the air filter element (internal and external) every 2000-4000km, and replace the outer filter element at 12000km. The inner filter element is best replaced every six months. If the filter element is damaged, it should be replaced in time.
3. Install correctly
When inspecting and maintaining the air filter element, the gasket on the filter element must be installed. The rubber gasket is prone to aging and deformation, and air is easy to flow through the gap of the gasket, bringing dust into the cylinder. If the gasket is aging, it is best to replace the air filter element with a new one. If the iron mesh outside the filter element is broken or the bonding between the upper and lower end caps is cracked, it should be replaced.
4. In the normal operation of the vehicle, the valve at the lower part of the air filter should be pinched several times by hand every day when the vehicle is retracted to drain the accumulated dust inside.
